EnergySavvy and the Building Performance Institute (BPI) have announced and launched a long-term marketing partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, all BPI-affiliated contractors will have accounts on EnergySavvy.com. Furthermore, through a data integration between the EnergySavvy and BPI databases, all BPI credentials for companies on EnergySavvy will be automatically verified. And any updates to BPI credentials will be immediately reflected in the EnergySavvy company database.
“We are absolutely dedicated to energy efficiency. We understand the importance of doing it right, and that means using the right contractor who is trained specifically in energy efficiency retrofit work,” says Aaron Goldfeder, CEO and co-founder of EnergySavvy.com. “By bringing the BPI Accredited Contractor base onto our site, we know we are connecting our visitors with companies that are not only trained and certified, but are working under a nationwide quality assurance program. That means a lot to us, and we hope it will mean a lot to homeowners who come to EnergySavvy.com.”
Many utility and regional energy efficiency programs require BPI Silver Star Certification or BPI Gold Star Accreditation for their workforce, however, the verification process to ensure that a particular contractor has current BPI credentials has been largely manual. Furthermore, if contractors lose their BPI credentials – if they fail BPI-run quality assurance checks, for instance – there hasn’t been any fail-safe system to make sure that those contractors are pulled out of referral lists until the QA problem is resolved.
EnergySavvy is thrilled to automate both of those processes, meaning that homeowners coming to our site for contractor referrals can be assured that they’re getting the best of the industry, the contractors who really understand energy efficiency.
